White Widow is a hybrid cannabis strain that many have been familiar with since the early 90's. This strain has global popularity and can easily be found atop a menu at almost any Amsterdam coffee shop. The prevalence of White Widow has greatly increased due to the television show Weeds and references within the rap industry. Among the most famous strains worldwide is White Widow, a balanced hybrid first bred in the Netherlands by Green House Seeds. A cross between a Brazilian sativa landrace and a resin-heavy South Indian indica yields a strain that has won numerous High Time Cannabis Cup awards dating back to 1995. Because of White Widow’s genetics have given rise to many other legends like White Russian, White Rhino, and Blue Widow.
White Widow gets its name from the fact that it is literally blanketed in white crystals. Buds of White Widow are chunky and somewhat conical and tapered. The bud structure of the flowers are more sativa than indica, with a loose and fluffy texture that can be broken up somewhat easily despite its stickiness. The leaves are spring green with few visible pistils.
TASTE AND FLAVOUR
White Widow is known for having stinging, smelling salt like fragrance for certain traces of gritty pine. You can also expect a citrus and peppery aroma that is joined by a lemony trailing sensation. Severing buds open gives a more hashy, incense-like scent. When inhaled, the smooth smoke carries an earthy taste.
What this strain lacks in flavor profile, it makes up for in quick-acting cerebral effects. Almost immediate uplift in mood, energy and focus that can be applied to either simple tasks like cleaning or more complex problem-solving processes. Euphoria and energy are other effects that help stimulate both conversation and creativity.
White Widow can aid those with attention deficit disorders in sustaining focus on a single topic. It can also boost energy in cases of fatigue or depression. Some cannabis users have even described White Widow as efficient in relieving migraines. This strain is especially good for those suffering from Bipolar Disorder, Chronic Pain, Depression, Fatigue, Headaches, Migraines, Muscle Spasms and PTSD
*The side effects are more pronounced if you’re a new user. The noticeable adverse impact is the dry mouth. Another effect is anxiousness, paranoia, cottonmouth, and dry eyes. The level of these side effects depends on the doses of White Widow you took. Sometimes, you might also feel dizzy. All you need to do is relax on your couch and savor the experience.
A White Widow cannabis plant flowers within 9 weeks and can grow to about 1m tall.
When grown outdoors, White Widow will be ready for harvest in early October.
